Original lithograph card with a color illustration on front of a quaint and amusing scene where a boy and girl are taken aback by a dog that has come up to them. The children wear traditional Dutch clothing and clogs. The boy appears to raise his umbrella to the dog while the girl backs off from the dog. A windmill and open field are shown in the background. The number "9" may indicate this card is from a series. No date, circa 1890s-1910s. 3" x 5." Card is very clean and intact except for slight age toning. A Fine copy. This card bears some resemblance to trade cards, which are antique business cards and the predecessors of modern trading cards. Trade cards were most common during the late nineteenth century..
